The Brand
Commongood Beer Company was founded with two goals in mind; to support the local community of brewers and to brew some great beer. They initially functioned as a contract brewer for small and medium sized breweries, offering their expertise and facilities to support these breweries as they built their businesses. Eventually they would begin to make their own beer under their own name so the brand would need to have expandability built in.
The Brand Identity
The visual brand identity was built on this communal idea and inspired by the optimism and collectivism of constructivist design language. To make the brand adaptable we designed several variations on the logo, including a monogram in the shape of a beer stein. The logos were designed to compliment Common Good’s partners and clients, not to take centre stage.
The Brand System
We then built a custom typeface around the typography of the logo. The colour palette was designed with primary colours for the brand and secondary colours that were all inspired by the colour of beer.
We created an initial packaging system that was quick, easy, affordable, and communicated their experimental nature.
